DIBRUGARH: Swachhata Pakhwada was observed by Brahmaputra Cracker Polymer Limited (BCPL) from July 1 to July 15 to promote awareness on cleanliness activities and to accomplish the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the aegis of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It concluded successfully on Thursday.
The event began with the tree plantation drive at the BCPL campus by Managing Director of BCPL, Reep Hazarika and other senior officials. Besides this, as a part of this mission, BCPL undertook various cleanliness drives at the campuses of BCPL Lepetkata, Gas Distribution Unit, Duliajan and Lakhwa. Various competitions like online quiz competition, essay/slogan competition, art competition, DIY competition organized for the employees of BCPL,GAIL,CISF and contractual workers and for the children and spouses of BCPL/CISF personnel were also held.
BCPL, in association with DHSK College, Dibrugarh, had also organized a virtual awareness talk on swacchata (cleanliness) amongst the students.
The resource person of the awareness talk was Shashi Kant Saikia, Principal of DHSK College.
Moreover, essay and slogan competition amongst the college students of Dibrugarh district was also conducted. BCPL installed few dustbins at DHSK College premises and nearby areas to keep the surroundings clean.
Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, BCPL also distributed masks, gloves and sanitizers to the housekeeping and horticulture workers of the plant.
Further, in association with Dibrugarh Cycling Club, BCPL also conducted an awareness programme on Swachhta amongst the tea garden workers at Durgapur Tea Estate, Barbaruah and distributed masks and sanitizers.
