Brahmin body of BTC demands creation of Development Council

TANGLA: The All BTC Brahmin Youth Council (ABBYC) made an fervent appeal to the Brahmin people of various linguistic community of the Bodo belt to come under an unified platform to voice for their rights and have demanded for creation of Brahmin Development Council.

President of the ABBYC, Tirtha Ranjan Goswami addressing a central executive meet at Tangla town in Udalguri district on Sunday stated that the association is determined to strengthen its organizational base by reaching out to Brahmins belonging to various linguistic community in BTC and will also undertake a project of creating a database so that the statistical figure of population of the Brahmins be determined.

"We are determined to press for the creation of Brahmin Development Council for the socio-economical development of the community as the people of the community are plaguing through various issues which are often overlooked by the government," he said.

He further said that the association will lend its support to any party in forthcoming BTC polls which incorporates clauses for the development of the community.

The central executive meet was attended by Central Organising Secretary, Kaustavmani Sarma besides by the members from all the four districts of BTC .
