BSF apprehends Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN ) racketeer in Dhubri district

GUWAHATI: Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended one Indian FICN Racketeer along with 65 thousand FICN (Fake Indian Currency Notes) on Friday from bordering areas of Ghewmari in Dhubri district.

Based on specific information provided by BSF intelligence, along with Dhubri police, launched an operation in general area of Dhubri town. Fake currency notes of Rs. 65,000 having a denomination of Rs 2000 and Rs 500 has been apprehended. The racketeer has been identified as MD Jahirul Parmanik, (43yrs), son of MD Sajaruddin Parmanik, a resident of Kalairalga Part -I village under Sukhchar Police Station of South Salmara district of Assam. He has been handed over to Dhubri Police Station for further legal action.

Besides, BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier seized 8 cattle heads having an approximate value of Rs. 58,837/- and 70 bottles of Phensedyle amounting to Rs. 9,818/- on intervening night of Thursday and Friday, a press release stated.
