BTC government has kept its promises to the people: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi

KOKRAJHAR: The United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) led BTC government celebrated the completion of two years at the Secretariat field, Bodofa Nwgwr on Tuesday with a day-long programme with strong participation of masses and party workers.

Addressing the celebration as chief guest, Assam Governor, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi said BTR is marching towards peace and prosperity, a dream of CEM Pramod Boro.

Mukhi said the fundamental approach of the present BTC government has rebuilt the peace and communal harmony among all sections of society. He claimed that the BTC government had properly implemented both the central and state governments' schemes and kept its promises to the people. The missions launched by BTC government in various departments for sustainable development is a significant step, he said adding that the CEM's Super-50 and Bodoland Super-50 missions in education sector for civil service aspirants and free coaching to engineering aspirants from poor economic background is praiseworthy. He also said the government had been supporting financial aid to the students who have got admission in IIT, NIT, medical etc. The Bodoland School Adoption mission for creation of good academic environment and infrastructure development is another significant agenda of the government. He also said the present government had brought lot of changes in road connectivity, health care services and in agriculture sector.

The national vice president of BJP and in-charge of Assam and Delhi Baijayant Jay Panda attending the ceremony as special guest said he had seen good roads, educational institutions and development infrastructures on his way to Kokrajhar which proves that the development is taking place in a swift manner. He said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had transformed India to a new height and special importance is being given to Northeast for development. He said Modi had always focused for the infrastructure development in Northeast and no Prime Minister paid such importance earlier.

He further said Modi emphasized for the need of special attention for the intensive development of Assam and Bodoland as well. He praised BTR CEM Pramod Boro for his initiative to reestablish peace, development of education and other sectors. He also hoped that in coming days people of the region will see more development.

The programme started with the walk for peace from the main gate of BTC Secretariat to the playground of Kokrajhar Government Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School which was flagged off by CEM Pramod Boro in the presence of other dignitaries early in the morning. The Governor inaugurated the foundation stone for construction of statue and Gurudham of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma at his birth place at Kazigaon in Porbatjhora sub division at a cost of Rs. 3 crore. He also handed over awards to distinguished persons who have commendable contributions in different fields.
