Dotoma:
Ahead of the second phase of elections for the Bodoland Territorial Council
(BTC) on December 10, Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has promised a
college, a 30-bed hospital, and a stadium to the people of Dotoma if his party,
BJP is voted to power in the BTC elections. He was speaking at an election
campaign held at Dotoma, Kokrajhar district of Assam on Tuesday.
The campaign rally was held in corporation with The
United People's Party Liberal (UPPL).
Speaking at the event held at Hokomabil, Serfanguri
Sarma said that the hospital with a capacity of 30 beds, a stadium, a college
and a playground would be built at an estimated cost of at least Rs 1 crore.
Bibhuti Borgayari, BJP candidate of No, 8 constituency of Dotoma was present at
the rally.
On Monday (December 7) Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was
seen campaigning extensively in the No. 2 Guma, No. 5 Sharaibil, and No. 3.
Srirampur constituencies with the BJP candidates in the sub-divisions of
Kokrajhar district.
Speaking at the occasion held at Babubil area in
Gossaigaon, Kokrajhar Sarma assured of bringing a change in the four districts
of Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) by forming government in BTC as
the people of BTAD are seeking relief from the corruption and mismanagement of
Bodoland People's Front ( BPF) during its 15-year rule in the region. Sarma
further stated that BJP needs to be given a chance to build a developing and
corruption-free society, establish equality, and equal status in the region.

Sarma was seen actively participating in campaigning in Kokrajhar and Chirang
districts.
Bodoland Territorial Council has a total of 40 seats.
The first phase of the BTC polls for 21seats was held on Monday (December 7) in the Baksa and Udalguri districts of BTAD. Fate of 130 candidates was sealed on Monday. The voting percentage was 77% till 7 pm.
The second phase of the BTC polls will take place on
December 10 in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts for 19 seats.
The counting of votes will be held on December 12.
