BTC Principal Secretary Anurag Goel takes stock of flood in Chirang district

KOKRAJHAR/BONGAIGAON: Principal Secretary of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Anurag Goel on Friday visited flood-affected areas in Chirang district. He visited Laoripara and Gendergaon villages under Sidli Revenue Circle and Thuribari relief camp under Bijni Revenue Circle to take stock of the flood damage and the relief distribution measures being taken by the district administration for the flood-hit people.

The Principal Secretary directed the Executive Engineer of PWD and Sidli Block Development Officer present on the spot to temporarily repair the road immediately to ensure uninterrupted road connectivity for the public under MGNREGA. He called on the district administration to focus on sanitation, drinking water facilities and medical services and provide relief items as much as possible to the flood victims in time as per the government's relief manual.

Additional Deputy Commissioner and in-charge Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Bijni, Rahul Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, District Disaster Management Authority, Kokrajhar, Ajit Kumar Sarmah, Circle Officers of Siddli and Bijni Revenue circles and other officials concerned were present during his visit to the district.
