TINSUKIA: The Cabinet meeting held at Tinsukia on Friday also decided to implement slew of development projects for Tinsukia district. Briefing media persons, the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that a multi-level car parking will come up at Thana Chariali Tinsukia in order to ease parking constraints, an ISBT will be constructed at bypass while the cabinet approved a truck terminal and a flyover to Tinsukia Medical College. The meeting also approved Rs 10 crore for development of Tinsukia Naupukhuri Park and Rs 2 crore for Bordoloi Nagar Park under Tinsukia LAC.
Under Chabua LAC, the Cabinet approved beautification with drainage from Court Tinali-DC office to Guru Teg Bahadur School. In Doomdooma, an indoor stadium will be constructed at Doomdooma College at the cost of Rs 12 crore and another stadium at Doomdooma besides a flyover at Doomdooma town. Under Margherita LAC, roads will be developed from Margherita to Changlang Gate and Margherita to Namtok ghat and a bridge over Buridihing River from Jagun Katha Chena Cema-Brahmajan Village. In Dogboi LAC, an indoor stadium with swimming pool will be constructed with 2 km road drainage from Digboi Chariali to Borbeel. A master plan drainage system has been approved for Makum. Under Sadiya LAC, a statue of Dr Bhupen Hazarika will be erected near Dr Bhupen Hazarika Setu while stadium will be constructed at Chapakhowa and Kakopathar. Rs 5 crore has been approved for BuraBuri Than and electrification for Amarpur village at the cost of Rs 50 crore. The Chief Minister announced that the proposed schemes will be completed by 2026.
