Cachar DC Keerthi Jalli holds meeting to monitor pension-related work of teachers

SILCHAR: A meeting was held at the Cachar Deputy Commissioner's office in Silchar on Wednesday in connection with monitoring of the progress of pension-related matters of all teachers who have retired from their service since 2010.

The meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli, was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education), Rajib Roy, District Elementary Education officer (DEEO) Sumitra Dev, block elementary education officers (BEEOs), Branch Officer (education) Himashri Deka, inspector of schools (IS) Semina Yasmin Ara Rahman, Deputy Inspector of schools, Nurul Haque Mazarbhuiya and officials of other relevant departments.

During the meet, applications of Kritagyata (pension sanction and payment checking system) portal which were submitted from 2020 onwards were checked. Instructions were given to initiate the process of paper work at least one year before a person's retirement. Similar instructions were given for Assistant Teachers and lower grade officials.

Instructions were also given so that retirement papers are finalized three months before a person's retirement to make the process smooth and avoid suffering and harassment to the person (retired teacher) concerned. Apart from that, discussions on Aadhaar card related issues were held with special emphasis on the importance of scaling up Aadhaar card work of students.

In the meeting, instructions were also given to Lead District Manager (LDM) to finalize a procedure for a hassle free system of opening Bank Account of School Students for getting future benefits under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) program undertaking the guidelines of State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC).

While sharing her reaction, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli said, "The administration has set the goal of timely completion of all pension-related work so that teachers do not have to face any trouble regarding their pension."

"Many people have to run from pillar to post for getting the pension work done. The administration has chalked out a proper plan to ensure the process of pension from now onwards is completed smoothly" she added, stated a press release.
