SILCHAR: Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Keerthi Jalli visited Bhalachera area near the NC Hills to review the status of the four-laning of Bhalachera-Harangajao NH 54(E) on Sunday.
During her visit she was accompanied by DFO, Cachar, Tajesh Mariswami, General Manager (P) NHIDCL,Col. Porje Arun Bhikaji, POWERGRID officials and EPC Contractor M/S Sushee Infra and Mining Ltd. DC Jalli also reviewed the status of Diversion and shifting of 11 numbers of PGCIL TOWERS.
It's worth mentioning that In a meeting held on October 4, 2021 at the Deputy Commissioner's chamber, it was informed that as per the joint survey done, the six numbers of 132kv Powergrid towers under Revenue will be taken care of by the District Administration while the remaining five towers in forest land will be looked after by the Cachar DFO for necessary clearance.
The Cachar DC also reviewed the status of the project and assured the contractors that all necessary support from District Administration for early completion of the work will be provided.
The EPC contractor updated the status and work program to DC, Cachar and assured that the completion of work will be done within the stipulated time frame i.e., April 30, 2023.
A spot visit was also done during the day to officially resume works that were halted during the rainy season. Administration officials interacted with the locals and assured the local public that they will get the compensation of 'Zirat' on Revenue land at the earliest.
DC Jalli further stated that the District Administration will engage Patwari as soon as puja is completed for carrying out the necessary estimation of 'zirat'. The DC also requested the locals for providing necessary support for getting the work expedited. The proposal was agreed upon by the local people residing there.
DFO, Cachar ,Tejash Mariswami also assured that necessary support and clearance for early completion of work in forest land will be given.
