Cachar District Day organized by district administration

During the BJP regime in Assam, the psychological distance between Barak and Brahmaputra Valleys had disappeared as the bond between two regions had been strongly cemented, stated Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah.

SILCHAR: During the BJP regime in Assam, the psychological distance between Barak and Brahmaputra Valleys had disappeared as the bond between two regions had been strongly cemented, stated Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah. Speaking at the first ever Cachar District Day celebration on Tuesday evening organized by the district administration, Baruah, who is also the Guardian Minister of the district, said, from now onwards, Village Day in each village would be observed which would help in chalking out a roadmap of development in all the districts of the State. Maintaining that Cachar was a fertile land of potential and talents, Baruah further said that development of the district should be village centric. He asked the people of Cachar to feel proud of their district.

He further added that the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had stressed upon the decentralisation of economy at the village and the celebration of District Day or the Village Day in the coming days was a part of this strategy. Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, MP Dr Rajdeep Roy also spoke in the occasion while Deputy Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha elaborated the significance of the District Day. The guests released a souvenir while an audio visual presentation on Cachar was screened.
