Cachar ranks first in Assam for excellence in health service

SILCHAR: Cachar district has bagged the best award for excellence in various fields of health services amongst 33 districts of the State in the recent health service assessment, which was held as per the guidelines of Gunotsav of the education department.

Cachar has the highest number of ‘A’ grade government hospitals in the State – 22. Nalbari district secured the second rank. Twenty two hospitals in the district got A grade. However, even if the number of A grade hospitals in Nalbari district is 22, their position is much lower than that of Cachar district. Their position is 39th in the percentage ratio. The rate of A grade hospitals in Cachar district is 52 per cent. Morigaon district is third in the list after Cachar and Nalbari districts. Eleven hospitals in the Morigaon district got A grade. Their percentage is 27 per cent.

Meanwhile, after the result was published on the dashboard of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, excitement was observed in the administrative and health department of the district. Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Rohan Kumar Jha warmly congratulated everyone in the department .

While sharing a message, DC Rohan Kumar Jha congratulated those who worked behind this success, especially the 8 health units of the district, Satindra Mohan Dev Memorial Civil Hospital (District Hospital) and the doctors of Silchar urban area, various levels of officials and workers. He also urged everyone to maintain this trend of ranking. DC Jha also congratulated Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health) Yubraj Borthakur, Branch Officer and executive magistrate Jonali Devi, Joint director health, Dr. Ashutosh Barman, DPM, NHM Rahul Ghosh and appealed to the departmental officials to maintain consistency of this line of excellence in the future.

The Chief Minister will ceremonially hand over the best award for health service to Cachar DC Rohan Kumar Jha at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhestra on July 5. The Joint Director of Health, Dr Ashutosh Barman, DPM, NHM, Rahul Ghosh and other health officials will also participate in the award ceremony, stated a press release.
