BISWANATH CHARIALI: The Biswanath district administration has taken up several election-centric awareness campaigns in order to create awareness amongst the voters so that they enthusiastically join in the whole election process and cast their valuable votes.

Biswanath Deputy Commissioner Pranab Kumar Sarmah formally flagged off the first such awareness initiative on Friday inaugurating an 'Election Corner-cum-Helpdesk' at the DC office's lobby. "There are still many areas in Biswanath district where the voting percentages are not overwhelmingly satisfactory. All these awareness programmes that we have chalked out for the upcoming days are aimed at improving voting percentage in those areas. I am hopeful that these awareness campaigns and programmes will surely have a positive effect, which will be evidently reflected on the day of election," said Sarmah while inaugurating the 'Helpdesk' on Friday.

Various other programmes like street plays and mobile EVM demo vans are being chalked out as upcoming campaigns. The 'Helpdesk' at the DC office will cater to any person who wants to get any information or help with regard to the upcoming election. Sarmah also flagged off an election-centric 'Signature Campaign' on Friday by penning a brief message on the signature board. In the programme, the Deputy Commissioner also felicitated six special voters of the district.

The programme was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Information and Public Relations Officer and other departmental heads and employees.
