TANGLA: Hundreds of citizens took out a candlelight vigil in Tangla town of Udalguri district on Friday evening, condemning the recent killing of two persons of a family in Chopai-Baligaon area under Dhekiajuli Police station in Sonitpur district and demanded justice for the bereaved family.
According to information, one Zili Rabha (48) and her 12-year-old girl were killed by a group of miscreants last Saturday. The miscreants forcefully entered the house of Zili Rabha in the absence of her husband and killed her. Later, the miscreants abducted her daughter and killed her. Citizens took out a candle light vigil from Amtola locality to Charali police point of Tangla town to express their outrage over the incident and demanded justice to the bereaved family members.
Expressing his anger and grief over the heinous incident, Rabha National Council (RNC) president Prafulla Rabha said the government should take stern actions against the culprits. He also slammed the police for their alleged failure in apprehending the culprits. "Six days have passed, but the police is yet to nab the guilty," he said. The police and district administration must apprehend the guilty and act as per procedure established by law.
