GOLAGHAT: The carcass of an adult 'makhna' elephant was recovered inside Nambor-Doigrung wildlife sanctuary under Kuwani sub-beat on Thursday. According to report, a forest team noticed an elephant carcass during patrolling duty in the wildlife sanctuary on Wednesday evening. On Thursday morning, forest officials, including Golaghat Divisional Forest Officer, and the doctors of Kaziranga National Park arrived at the spot and inspected the dead elephant. Forest officials said that the elephant died of natural causes. There were no injuries signs on the elephant, which was about 65 to 70 years old.
