Career counselling on civil services held at Bholanath College, Dhubri

DHUBRI: A career counselling and orientation programme on prospects in civil services was organized by the Dr Pannalal Oswal Memorial Committee in collaboration with IQAC, Bholanath College, Dhubri in the digital hall of the college on Wednesday.

In his inaugural address to over 90 students studying degree in various stream, Dhubri District Commissioner Dibakar Nath spoke about the most common myths, including language barrier, about appearing for the UPSC examination which often deter students from appearing in the civil services examinations.

He promised to provide the widely-read book Laxmikant for UPSC students. Addressing as the guest speaker, Dhubri District Assistant Commissioner Mridul Shivhare spoke at length on the various books, study materials, guidance, counselling, coaching and newspapers.

Earlier, at the beginning of the programme, floral tribute was offered at the portrait of Dr Pannalal Oswal and inaugural speech was given by the working president of the memorial committee, JM Surana, while welcome address was delivered by Principal of Bholanath College, Dr Dhruba Chakrabortty.

Talking to The Sentinel, secretary of the memorial committee, Bimal Oswal said that the committee was planning to organize similar programmes in all the colleges across the Dhubri district soon.
