Cattle smugglers apprehended by troops of Border Security Force of Guwahati Frontier

GUWAHATI: In different operations, troops of Border Security Force of Guwahati Frontier apprehended two Indian cattle smugglers along with cattle on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday from bordering areas of New Diwaneralga, of Dhubri district and Balabhut of Cooch Behar district.

On Monday, BSF troops apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with cattle from New Diwaneralga BOP. He has been identified as Mukhtar Hussain (31 years), resident of Barabaluchar in Dhubri district. He has been handed over to Sukchar Police Station for further legal action.

In another incident, on a tip-off, on Tuesday, BSF troops apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with 4 cattle heads from Balabhut BOP, while he was trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Sahajan Sarkar (30 yrs), resident of M/Balabhut of Cooch Behar district. He has been handed over to Tufanganj PS for further legal action, stated a press release.
