Cattle smugglers arrested in Biswanath Chariali

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Biswanath police conducted a raid at Itakhola under Sootea police station in Biswanath district on Thursday night and apprehended three accused who were allegedly smuggling cattle from Khairabari, Sootea, to Shillong, Meghalaya, in a truck bearing Registration No. AS01 MC99541). They were identified as Abdul Khoyer, (34) of Kherbari, Itakhola, Sirajul Islam, (22) of Modartoli village, Doboka, Nagaon and the driver Nuruddin (34) of Gorematikhowa, Rupahi, Nagaon.

15 cattle were also recovered and the involved truck was seized. In this regard, a case was registered and the three accused persons were forwarded to judicial custody on Friday.
