Cattle 'smugglers' nabbed in Golaghat

Two persons in a Bolero vehicle were allegedly trying to smuggle cattle from the roadside on Sunday night in the Pulibor area under Golaghat Police Station.

GOLAGHAT: Two persons in a Bolero vehicle were allegedly trying to smuggle cattle from the roadside on Sunday night in the Pulibor area under Golaghat Police Station. They were nabbed by local people and later handed over to the police.

As per report, the two persons, who have been identified as Md. Manowar Hussain and Md. Najir Ali from Athabari area in Golaghat, were seen in a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number AS 05 L 1767 in the Pulibor area. Seeing their suspicious movement, local people kept a close watch on them. When it was seen that they were trying to pick up cattle from the roadside, the local people nabbed them.

The police was informed and a team of Golaghat Police reached the spot and took the alleged cattle smugglers and the vehicle into custody. An FIR has been lodged by Chandrajyoti Saikia in this regard demanding stern action against cattle smuggling and smugglers.
