The command of Indian Army’s distinguished Gajraj Corps Tezpur on Monday changed hands from Lt Gen Ravin Khosla

TEZPUR: The command of Indian Army's distinguished Gajraj Corps Tezpur on Monday changed hands from Lt Gen Ravin Khosla, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM to Lt Gen Dinesh Singh Rana, AVSM,YSM, SM.

Lt Gen DS Rana, AVSM, YSM, SM is an Infantry Officer with an extensive experience in varied terrain and operational situations in India and abroad. He has tenanted various instructional and staff appointments in many eminent institutions and formations. The General Officer is an alumnus of National Defence College in India, CESDEN in Madrid, Spain and NDU at United States of America. In his illustrative career, the general officer has commanded an Infantry Brigade in counter insurgency operations and an Infantry Division along Line of Actual Control in an exceptional manner for which he has been awarded with AVSM and YSM. As an Young Officer he has been awarded with SM (Gallantry) in Kashmir. The General is a Scholar Warrior and has authored various research papers and articles on leadership and strategic issues. He comes to Gajraj Corps from IHQ of MoD (Army), where he was tenanting the appointment of DGSD.

Lt Gen Ravin Khosla had an eventful tenure of more than a year at Tezpur. The formation has augmented its operational capabilities, both in conventional operations, as well as in the counter insurgency operations in its area of responsibility in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, during his tenure. In the Unified Command HQ Mechanism, he was the chairman of the Operational Group, which was responsible for executing the Counter Insurgency/ Counter Terrorism operations in Assam.
