Charaideo to be made a developed district: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday inspected the construction work of Charaideo Medical College and reviewed its progress in a meeting with Guardian Minster of the district Bimal Bora, district administration and top officials of PWD.

CHARAIDEO: Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday inspected the construction work of Charaideo Medical College and reviewed its progress in a meeting with Guardian Minster of the district Bimal Bora, district administration and top officials of PWD.

The medical college, being built with an amount of Rs 467.66 crore on a plot of 100 bighas, is scheduled to be completed within 36 months. 13 per cent of the project is completed so far and the Chief Minster directed the concerned officials to expedite the construction works so that people can get quality health service at the earliest.

Laying emphasis on the earthquake resistant architecture of the building, the Chief Minister reviewed the OPD room, OT etc while stressing on the importance of keeping provisions for extending the academic building in future for dental college, nursing college etc. He also took stock of the construction plan of the paying cabin, residential quarters for doctors and officials, hostel for students etc.

After the review meeting, the Chief Minister remarked that the State government has been taking steps to develop Charaideo district in a new way. He informed about the construction plans of DC office, stadium etc in the district. Revenue and Disaster Management Department Minister Jogen Mohan, MP Topon Gogoi, MLA Dharmeswar Konwar were also present at the meeting, stated a press release.
