BOKO: Chayygaon MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed visited the old-age home at Bamunigaon under Chayygaon Legislative Constituency on Monday. The old-age home is run by the Social Welfare department. Twenty six women live in this old-age home and the MLA interacted with them and distributed fruits, biscuits, bread, milk and juice. He also distributed hand sanitizers and face masks to them. 

After that, the MLA visited the child observation home, which too is run by the Social Welfare Department, and distributed the fruits, biscuits, bread, milk, juice, hand sanitizers and face masks to the children. These were received by Kalyani Baruah, the Superintendent of the old-age home and observation home.

The MLA then visited the Mahatma Gandhi Model Hospital in Bamunigaon, which is now a 19-bedded quarantine centre for COVID-19 patients. He distributed the same items to the hospital staff in the presence of Hospital Superintendent Dr. Someswar Das. Later he visited the Chayygaon Primary Health Centre in Gobordhan village and distributed the same items to all staff of the hospital. MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed also handed over a cheque of Rs 10,000 to Dhiraj Das, president, and Bhagawan Das, secretary of the Chayygaon Press Club, for the welfare of the press club.
