BONGAIGAON: District Disaster Management Authority, Bongaigaon ceremoniously distributed cheques received under the Chief Minister Relief Fund on Saturday in the conference hall of the office of the District Commissioner, Bongaigaon.
The ceremonial distribution was attended by Apurba Kumar Nath, Additional District Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, District Disaster Management Authority, Bongaigaon and Himani Adhikari, advocate and social worker, Bongaigaon.
Apurba Nath explained the objective of the meeting. Himani Adhikary gave a speech on the occasion. The cheques were distributed to 15 beneficiaries who had prayed for financial assistance under CMRF. Diganta Das, son of Bistu Das, a young man from Jogighopa in the Bongaigaon district, who designed an innovative Amphibious bike that can operate both on the waterway and land routes, was also presented a cheque amounting to Rs 2 lakh for his innovation. Diganta Das shared his feelings on receiving the cheque.
