Cheques handed over to beneficiaries under CM's relief fund in Silchar

SILCHAR: MP Dr Rajdeep Roy distributed cheques among 80 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Relief Fund in Silchar. The financial assistance has been provided by the Assam government to the persons from economically weaker sections of the society, who are suffering from various ailments and need money for their medical treatment, stated a press release.

Sharing his reaction, MP Rajdeep Roy said the State government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is doing a remarkable job in helping people in times of need and praised Himanta for the same. "Assam has witnessed a new era of progress and prosperity in the past five to six years. The present government, led by Himanta Biswa Sarma, has made big strides in terms of development in the past one year," Rajdeep said.

He praised Prime Minister saying the Centre, in the past few years, has launched various schemes for the welfare of the masses. From education to healthcare, every sector has seen positive changes in the last few years under Modi's competent leadership, he said.

The MP mentioned that the Assam government has provided around Rs. 50 lakh to 250 beneficiaries of Silchar Lok Sabha constituency for their medical treatment in the past one year (after the Himanta Biswa Sarma government came to power in Assam). He also said the Centre has provided approximately Rs. 55 lakh to people of the constituency for treatment in the last three years.

He also expressed his happiness over the opportunity given to him for distributing the cheques saying, "I am deeply humbled. It is a great feeling to be able to hand over so many cheques to the needy. I thank the Chief Minister for this. I will continue my efforts to work for the poor and needy in my constituency and I thank God for the opportunity and scope provided to me for it by my constituency's people."
