Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma discussed Issues plaguing Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had an interaction with media persons on Thursday at the Convention Centre, Tinsukia and discussed local issues, particularly of Tinsukia town.

The CM was surprised to know about the chaotic traffic and parking scenario of Tinsukia town. The media persons raised the issues of poor and unplanned drainage system, and also unauthorized residential and commercial buildings.

After a patient hearing, Sarma instructed Tinsukia Deputy Commissioner Swapneel Paul to chalk-out 10 pertinent issues of public interest and to initiate steps immediately with the departments concerned and also to ensure that the gradient of the drainage system is maintained.

In his next visit to Tinsukia during August-September, the Chief Minister said that he wished to see some of the issues being solved. Earlier during in the morning, he inspected the ongoing construction of Tinsukia Medical College at Sukhanpukhuri on the outskirts of Tinsukia and reviewed the progress of the work and asked the officials to expedite the work before the stipulated time.
