Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal felicitated and distributed cheques to all three plasma donors who donated plasma in Assam Medical College and Hospital on Thursday

DIBRUGARH: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal felicitated and distributed cheques to all three plasma donors who donated plasma in Assam Medical College and Hospital on Thursday on the first day of the project, undertaken jointly by Marwari Natya Samity and Dibrugarh Press Club in association with district administration, in order to encourage plasma donors.

Sonowal handed over the appreciation certificates to three donors –Rabi Sharma, Bablu Das and Abdul Noor - at a function held at his own residence here at Lakhinagar on Friday in presence of local MLA Prasanta Phukan, Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha and representatives of both the organizations, including social worker Ajit Bajaj.

"I feel proud to donate plasma after being affected by COVID-19. I thank the organizations for taking such a step to motivate the donors," said Bablu Das, one of the donors.

Chief Minister Sonowal lauded the efforts of both Dibrugarh Press Club and Marwari Natya Samity for adopting such initiatives and appealed to all eligible donors to come forward and donate plasma.

Dibrugarh Press Club and Marwari Natya Samity, in association with district administration, earlier resolved to honour and reward 100 donors who donate plasma with Rs 5,000 each, with effect from September 10 in AMCH. All total 12 donors donated plasma in AMCH till the filing of this report.
