PATHSALA: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal paid his tribute to martyred CoBRA Inspector Dilip Kumar Das at Bharegaon village in Sarupeta under the newly-created Bajali district.

Inspector Das lost his life in the Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh's Sukma-Bijapur border on April 3. He joined the CRPF in 2001 at Chhattisgarh and was posted in Chhattisgarh at the time of the attack. He is survived by his wife Pranjali Das and two daughters — Hiyamani Das (11) and Risha Das (03) — along with his father Banamali Das and mother Maina Das, besides a host of relatives and well wishers.

At least 22 security personnel were killed and 30 others injured in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh on Saturday. The attack took place in a forest along the border between Bijapur and Sukma districts in Chhattisgarh.

DUDHNOI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday visited the residence of martyr Bablu Rabha, the brave soldier of CRPF Cobra Battalion of Dudhnoi in Goalpara district who was martyred in a deadly Naxal attack in Bijapur, Chattishgarh.

The Chief Minister paid homage to the brave soldier who sacrificed his life for the country. Sonowal then spoke to martyr Bablu Rabha's mother Kalyani Rabha, wife Lipika Rabha and seven-year-old daughter Bhopali. MP Tapan Gogoi, Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Tankeshwar Rabha, BJP alliance candidate Shyamjit Rabha, Sixth Schedule Demand Committee president Mahidhar Rabha and Goalpara district BJP president Himadri Das accompanied the Chief Minister.

Talking to media persons, Chief Minister Sonowal said that Bablu laid down his life for the country. He would always be a role model for the future generation, he said. "All facilities will be provided to the family of martyr Bablu Rabha as per government norms," added Sonowal.
