Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah visits Kokrajhar, hails APDCL revenue collection

KOKRAJHAR: Chief Secretary, Assam, and Chairman, Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), Jishnu Baruah on Thursday visited Kokrajhar district and held a meeting with the officials of APDCL to review the revenue collection of the department in the presence of Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka and Chief Executive Officer, Kokrajhar Electrical Circle, APDCL (LAR), Bijaya Boro.

On the occasion, the Chief Secretary and Chairman of APDCL also inaugurated a newly-constructed Guest House and conference hall of APDCL, Kokrajhar. During the review meeting held at the conference hall of APDCL, the Chief Secretary and chairman of APDCL emphasized increasing revenue collection, finding a permanent solution to power tripping, besides improving services in the department. He asked the officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the interest of consumers.

Talking to the media, he said there had been a marked improvement in electricity services as well as revenue collection in the State. "Kokrajhar district has performed well by collecting more than 100 per cent revenue in the last one year. Hopefully, they will do better this year as well," he added.
