MANGALDAI: Amidst the worldwide celebration of “World Day Against Child Labour” on Monday, ‘SATRA’- a premier non government organization in an operation in collaboration with district administration, police, District Labour Office, District Child Protection Unit rescued 20 child labourers in the age group of 10-16 years working in various business establishments in Darrang district and produced them before the District Child Welfare Committee. Significantly, on the other hand, while the child labourers’ rescue operation was underway at Besimari, a large number of child labour employers raised a strong resistance and attacked the team. The team somehow managed to escape from the scenario leaving four of the rescued children at the hands of the agitated violent mob. Acting promptly on it, a team of Dalgaon Police Station rushed to the spot and rescued the team.
