Chirang district administration organizes public meeting

KOKRAJHAR: On the completion of 100 days of the present Assam government, led by Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chirang district administration organized a public meeting inviting leading citizens and mediapersons of the district to discuss various achievements made by the State government in the last 100 days at the conference hall of the office of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Chirang, Kajalgaon on Friday.

The programme started with the National Anthem. It was conducted by Rakhisri Lekharu, Assistant Commissioner, Chirang, and attended by Abhiram Mahanayak, Deputy Speaker of Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) as chief guest.

In his welcome address, Chirang Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah congratulated the Government of Assam led by Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for the successful completion of hundred days. He said that during these 100 days, the present State government had been able to bring all round development by taking up various welfare schemes and implementing all these properly. Stressing on the importance of creating public awareness regarding various public welfare schemes of the State government, he also urged the media representatives to extend their cooperation for wide circulation of all schemes. "In the last 100 days, the government of Assam has done a lot of works by taking notable measures like protection of livestock, engaging one lakh youths in government departments, a drug free and healthy Assam in the next five years, protection of children and women, safe repatriation of a total of 72 children trafficked from Chirang, providing financial assistance to women and children, who had lost their husbands and parents due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The chief guest of the programme, Deputy Speaker of BTCLA  Abhiram Mahanayake claimed that under the leadership of Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam would be one of the best states in India within a year. He also said that the Arunodoi scheme and other pension schemes for elderly people and widows, would solve the major problems of public.

On the occasion, distribution of booklets containing development stories and interaction with the mediapersons on the issues pertaining to developmental activities in the district were also witnessed.
