BONGAIGAON: The Chirang district committee of Journalists Union of Assam was formed on Monday at Kajalgaon. In a meeting held at Kajalgaon press club premises which had been presided over by Ranjit Sarma, president of JUA , Bongaigaon district, the 17-member committee was formed. Bipul Kumar Das was selected as president, Hitesh Ray as working president and Gulzar Hussein Pramanik as secretary. Several noted person including Semim Sultana Ahmed, JUA president, Dhanjit Das, secretary, JUA, and other state level leaders of the organization such as Pallabi Saikia, Upananda Sarma, Prasanta Ray , Dharam Ranjan Ray etc were present in the meeting.
