KOKRAJHAR: In a noble and praiseworthy initiative by 'Swima Athing Hanja' (A group of morning walkers) on Sunday morning carried out a cleanliness drive at the new flyover area in Kokrajhar with an aim to support the 'Clean and Green Kokrajhar' mission.
Over 20 citizens from various professions from doctors to professors, officers to journalists participated in the cleanliness drive enthusiastically. Most of the citizens who joined the cleanliness drive are regular morning walkers and health-conscious citizens. They cleaned around three km stretch of the road in the new flyover area. In previous years also the team carried out a similar cleanliness drive.
In his short speech, on behalf of the group, Swmdwn Narzary who is also the Block Elementary Education Officer said that the group carried out the cleanliness drive to make people aware of clean and green environment for good health and hygiene in Kokrajhar. He said keeping good health was utmost important and good health needs a clean and green environment that brings better hygiene. He called upon all citizens of Kokrajhar to give importance on keeping Kokrajhar clean with a healthy environment.
