Cleanliness drive conducted in Tinsukia district

As part of their ongoing (RAWEP), the 4th year batch of 36 undergraduate students of (AAU), who have been camping at Baruaholla in Tinsukia district as a part of their curriculum conducted a cleanliness drive

TINSUKIA: As part of their ongoing Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme (RAWEP), the 4th year batch of 36 undergraduate students of Assam Agricultural University (AAU), who have been camping at Baruaholla in Tinsukia district as a part of their curriculum conducted a cleanliness drive under the scheme of Shramdaan / Swach Bharat Abhiyan Programme at Baruaholla village in Tinsukia district on Saturday on the occasion of 55th Foundation day of AAU, Jorhat.

The main objective of the drive was to create cleanliness awareness among the villagers and to keep their streets and surroundings clean. The programme included activities such as installation of dustbins at various locations for the proper disposal of the garbage and prohibition of non- biodegradable materials, plastics.

The programme was cooperated by the villagers and local people. The students also assured the villagers that such events including hygiene and health related issues will be conducted in the upcoming days. The RAWE programme is progressing under the guidance of KrishiVigyan Kendra, Tinsukia.
