CM Himanta Biswa Sarma attends Majuli Raax Mahotsav in Majuli

MAJULI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited a photo exhibition on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and 8 years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan being held in Majuli Raax festival on Wednesday. The CM asserted that the exhibition beautifully highlighted the journey of development and the history of freedom struggle started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through service and good governance. The three-day exhibition was organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, Guwahati under Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.

The Chief Minister lauded the role of CBC for creating awareness among people about freedom fighters of the nation and approached for a big photo exhibition at Guwahati in the coming days.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, Majuli MLA Bhuban Gam, Majuli DC Pulak Mahanta among others. He visited many xatras including Samaguri Xatra, Bengenaaati Xatra, Garmur Xatra and Jengraimukh in Majuli on the prestigious occasion of Raax festival.

More than 50 panels on freedom fighters of the Northeast, schemes and initiatives of the central government in the Northeast, freedom movement of the country etc. are being showcased in the photo exhibition along with video display on freedom movement. Cultural shows, open quiz competition and a Swachhata Abhiyan were also carried out in the exhibition, stated a press release.
