CM Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurates projects in Nalbari

The Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Nalbari on Tuesday for ‘Week for Development’ programme.

NALBARI: The Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Nalbari on Tuesday for 'Week for Development' programme. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various schemes worth Rs. 678.43 crore sanctioned at the District Sports Project premises in Nalbari. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 12 projects at the District Sports Project premises in Sariyahatli, Nalbari. Various schemes to eradicate poverty were inaugurated. Similarly, widows will be included in the Arunodoi scheme instead of pension.

Measures have also been taken to issue term leases instead of acreage land. Measures have been taken to purchase paddy from farmers in the public sector. The CM announced that farmers will get Rs. 2,040 per quintal of paddy from the government. Meanwhile, more medical colleges will be set up from Guwahati to Dhubri.

The event was attended by Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patowari, Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, Minister Ranjit Dass, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta, GMDA Chairman Narayan Deka, former MLA Ashok Sarma and Chairman of various corporations, District Commissioner Gitimani Phukan and government officials.
