CM Himanta Biswa Visits Proposed Site of Assam Bhawan at Bengaluru

Earlier in the month of August, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took stock of the construction of the proposed additional Assam Bhavans in New Delhi and Kolkata.

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today visited the proposed site of Assam Bhawan at Bengaluru on October 30.

Further, the chief minister discussed the project in depth with the officials and directed them to coordinate with Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) to obtain required approvals for commencement of construction work at the earliest.

Earlier in the month of August, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took stock of the construction of the proposed additional Assam Bhavans in New Delhi and Kolkata.

Chairing a meeting with General Administration Department (GAD), PWD and the heads of other departments at the conference room of his office in Janata Bhavan on Tuesday, Chief Minister Sarma, apart from reviewing the progress of the proposed Assam Bhavan in New Delhi and Kolkata, also held discussion for setting up new Assam Houses in Chandigarh, Puducherry and Hyderabad.

Further, during the meeting, Chief Minister Sarma directed PWD (Building) to start construction of the proposed Assam Bhavan at New Delhi's Dwarka and Assam House in Kolkata's Russel Street and complete them at a stipulated time frame.

He also said that the proposed Assam Bhavan in Dwarka, New Delhi should be dedicated to the needs of the patients and students. The meeting also discussed the construction of a new Raj Bhavan as the Chief Minister asked the concerned functionary to expeditiously start the process.

The Chief Minister also stressed the need of building integrated directorate complex to accommodate directorate offices of all departments, stated a press release.
