BARPETA: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday inaugurated the newly-constructed building of Barpeta revenue circle office at Barpeta. Built with an expenditure of Rs 2.76 crore, the circle office building, containing all modern facilities, will help in delivery public services in an efficient manner, stated a press release.
While dedicating the circle office building in the service of the people, Chief Minister Sonowal said that the people of Barpeta had the spiritual, intellectual and cultural strengths as inculcated by the two gurujonas' teachings and the society there must show the path to the State's youth.
Saying that dilapidated condition of government office buildings hampered the work culture of the State during the time of the previous governments, Sonowal highlighted initiatives such as circle office building construction and schemes like MOITRI for rebuilding police stations as concrete steps taken by present State Government which had positively impacted the work ethics in government offices.
Stressing the importance of providing better working environment in all government offices for efficient and timely service delivery, Sonowal focused on infrastructure development works undertaken by the State Government such as improvement of roads, setting up of educational institutions, houses for the poor under PMAY and toilets under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as measures of good governance.
Minister of State (Independent) for Cultural Affairs, Naba Kumar Doley, Media Adviser to the Chief Minister, Hrishikesh Goswami, Barpeta MLA Gunindra Nath Das and ATDC chairman Jayanta Malla Barua were also present on the occasion along with other dignitaries.
