Dibrugarh: CM Sarbananda Sonowal ordered the revenue circle officers of the district on Friday to expedite the process of granting land patta to landless indigenous people. He said this while having a discussion with the DC, ADC (Revenue) and circle officers. Sonowal also took stock of the number of such landless people who had already been granted land patta, and also of the number of eligible beneficiaries for whom the process of granting the same had begun. During the meeting, DC, Pallav Gopal Jha informed Sonowal that the process was underway to present a total of 2341 such landless indigenous families with land patta. However, Sonowal ordered Jha to take measures to expand the scope and include every eligible beneficiary of the district under its ambit. Among the other officials present during the meeting included ADC (Revenue), Dipu Kumar Deka, Circle Officers Nandita Baruah, Manashjyoti Nath, Bikram Chetri, Gitashree Lachit and Ashutosh Deka, among others.
