CM's gifts for media persons distributed at Lakhimpur

The gift items extended by the Chief Minister of Assam to the government recognized media persons of the State

LAKHIMPUR: The gift items extended by the Chief Minister of Assam to the government recognized media persons of the State were distributed among the journalists of Lakhimpur district on Tuesday.

On this occasion, a special programme was organized by District Information and Public Relation Officer (DIPRO) at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office. The programme began with District Development Commissioner (DDC) Manoj Kumar Baruah in the chair. DIPRO MandiraChayengiya explained the objective of the programme and delivered the welcome address.

In the programme, DDC Manoj Kumar Baruah presented the gift items to a total of 54 government recognized media persons of the district. Conveying the New Year and MaghBihu wishes to the media fraternity, the DDC appreciated the role of the media persons for their relentless services rendered for the betterment of the society and welfare of the people. He also appreciated the media persons for creating awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic among the masses continuing their services during the adverse situation of the past days. He called upon them to make extensive publicity of the welfare schemes adopted and implemented by the government in order to provide the benefits to the genuine beneficiaries.

In the same programme, a presentation on various schemes implemented by the Directorate of Information and Public Relation targeting the media fraternity was also made. On behalf of the media persons, journalists SailenBaruah, PriyamJyotiPhukan, AmritPaban Borah and MajinSonowal delivered speech in the programme expressing gratitude to the government and narrating the bitter-sour-sweet experiences of a journalist's life.

BAKSA: "Journalists of Baksa district helped the district administration as well as people immensely through their WhatsApp group 'BAKSA live 24x7' during the COVID-19 pandemic," said Additional Deputy Commissioner SadhanSirkar on Tuesday in the Chief Minister's gift distribution programme held at the Deputy Commissioner's office conference hall.

He also expressed his gratitude to journalists of the district for their support in peaceful conduct of the BTC election recently as well as handling the pandemic situation. He also asked for healthy criticism from journalists for the smooth running of the administration. Additional Deputy Commissioners SanjeebSarma and Arun Kumar Brahma also addressed the journalists. The Chief Minister's gift was handed over to 13 accredited journalists of the district.
