Coaching camp for competitive exams inaugurated at Mangaldai College

The long-cherished dream of a coaching centre for UPSC/APSC/ SSC and other competitive examinations that too, free of cost for interested students of the district has become a reality.

MANGALDAI: The long-cherished dream of a coaching centre for UPSC/APSC/ SSC and other competitive examinations that too, free of cost for interested students of the district has become a reality. The IQAC of Mangaldai College, with the patronage of legislator Guru Jyoti Das and Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah, on Saturday inaugurated the coaching camp at Mangaldai College. The coaching camp, first of its kind in Darrang district, will accommodate 120 students for an initial duration of three months. Significantly, extending a very positive response, a total of more than 300 students have submitted applications to take part in the camp.

Deputy Commissioner of Darrang Dilip Kumar Borah ceremonially inaugurated the camp in the jam-packed Science auditorium of the college in the traditional way by lighting a lamp. "The need of the hour is to rediscover your talents and to fix your goal, then only you will be able to reach your goal through hard work and study. Always keep in your mind that success has no shortcut. It was heartening to note that Darrang district was listed as an aspirational district. But this year the district has been able to secure second position among the aspirational districts in the country. At the same time, the students of Darrang district have come out with flying colours in HSLC, HSSLC and degree examinations while a total of 11 candidates created a record in the district by making it to the merit list in the APSC examination," said Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah while addressing the participants of the camp.

Mangaldai legislator Guru Jyoti Das appealed to the students and the participants to grab whatever opportunity comes their way. "We the people of Darrang district are fortunate to have a dynamic and visionary administrative officer as the Deputy Commissioner of the district to guide and show the proper way to the younger generation. He is also assisted by a team of young, energetic and smart officials in the district administration," said legislator Guru Jyoti Das while taking part in the function as the chief guest.

Circle Officer of Mangaldai Revenue Circle, Nayan Jyoti Pathak, Superintendent of Tax, Leena Das, industrialist of repute, Anupam Deka of SRD Group of Companies and media person Bhargab Kumar Das also took part in the inaugural function and interacted with the participants.

Earlier, Principal of Mangaldai College, Dr. Khagendra Kumar Nath extended a hearty welcome to all the guests and the participants in his welcome speech.

In another function, legislator Guru Jyoti Das and Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah laid the foundation of the proposed additional library building at Mangaldai College which will be constructed at Rs. 50 lakh under the CM's Untied fund.
