DOOMDOOMA: In a collective tribute paying ceremony organized by Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX) on Saturday, rich tributes were paid to the hallowed memories of former secretary, retired teacher and social activist Dharma Kanta Gogoi, Trade Union Leader and Life Member, Asam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) Girish Chandra Barpatra Gohain, retired teacher, singer, social worker and Life Member, AXX, Mon Bahadur Adhikari (of Amguri, Phillobari) and a sincere member, DSXX and Life Member, AXX Prashanti Mitra.

Distinguished Social worker Gobinda Phukan, president Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha (TZXX) Arjun Baruah, president, DSXX Bimala Baruah and former headmaster, Doomdooma Bangiya Vidyalaya Prabin Mazumdar lit the lamps and offered floral tributes in front of the portraits of the former secretary, Dharma Kanta Gogoi and other three life members of AXX respectively. The meeting was anchored by DSXX secretary Deben Deka. Gobinda Phukan spoke about Dharma Kanta Gogoi, Dhiren Deka, president, Assam Science Writers' Association (ASWA) dwelt on Trade Unionist and Life Member, AXX Girish Chandra Barpatra Gohain, Arjun Baruah narrated about Mon Bahadur Adhikari and Prabin Mazumdar apprised the audience about Prashanti Mitra in their brief commemorative lecturers. In the beginning, one minute silence was observed in memory of noted singer Archana Mahanta.
