College Admissions Will Be Done Online: Assam CM Himanta Biswa

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Saturday that college admissions will be done online starting today

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that the admission process in the colleges will be online from now onwards adding that every government process will be online within three years.

Following a Cabinet Meeting in Khanapara today, the Chief Minister addressed a news conference at Koinadhara State Guest House, saying that the building of 2500 LP Schools is ongoing. "Model College, hospitals, and engineering institutions are also under construction," he continued.

He also mentioned that the government will invest Rs. 20,000 crore in capital for development projects.

The following are some of the important decisions made at today's Cabinet Meeting:

One elevated corridor will be created in Kaziranga.

Misa in Nagaon and Tezpur will soon be connected by a tunnel.

A total of 10 lakhs of residences for the needy would be erected.

An agreement with NDDB will be signed on January 7.

By 2016, Majuli's bridges will be completed.

The Brahmaputra will be crossed by a new bridge in Mangaldoi.

New policy in case of PSO except the ones who own constitutional title

4420 employees have been deployed for security reasons.

There used to be 22 convoys conveying the Chief Minister in Guwahati, but that number has now been reduced to 7-8.

There would be no additional security or lodging for the former Chief Ministers.

Assam's cabinet has taken extraordinary efforts to enrol students from the state's universities.
