JORHAT: The College of Community Science, College of Home Science, of Assam Agriculture University in Jorhat completed 48 years of establishment on Wednesday. The foundation day was celebrated with flag hoisting by Dr. Ruplekha Borah, Dean, College of Community Science, along with the Head of the departments, faculty members and staff in the college campus of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat observing all COVID protocols.
A virtual meeting was conducted which was attended by statutory officers, faculty members, alumni and students across and outside the State. The programme was initiated by an invocation by Dr. Pranati Das, Professor and Head, Department of Food Science and Nutrition. The Dean, College of Community Science, welcomed the gathering of 200 participants by revisiting the achievements made by the college since inception. Dr. Bidyut Chandan Deka, Vice-Chancellor, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, enlightened the gathering, especially the student community, about the emerging scope and prospects of Community Science in developing skilled professionals and better employability.
