DOOMDOOMA: Doomdooma Police, at the behest of the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Tinsukia, Debajit Deori took it upon themselves to fill up a big pothole just at the entrance of the town near the railway level crossing gate on Wednesday.

Basing on a social media report by a conscious citizen of the town, SP Debajit Deori, who recently joined after major administrative and police reshuffle, instructed Officer-in-charge of Doomdooma Police Station, Inspector Dibyajyoti Dutta to take steps to fill up the big pothole which posed as an accident hazard for commuters as well as for vehicles.

OC Dutta, without waiting for the department concerned , took up the responsibility to do the job for the greater interest of public safety. Although land filling job was started from Monday, yet due to incessant rain the work could not be completed and finally as weather improved, it was completed on Wednesday. Social media was all praise for the police administration.
