MORIGAON: The Election Commission of India published the draft proposal on delimitation of assembly and parliamentary constituencies in Assam, retaining its total Lok Sabha (LS) and assembly seats at 14 and 126 respectively. Communist Party of India (CPI) has sharply reacted over publishing the draft proposal of delimitation by the Election Commission of India. The Communist Party of India (CPI)’s national executive member Munin Mahanta in a statement said that altogether 12 united political parties of Assam appealed the EC to stop the process of delimitation as the case is under trial in HC for hearing. But EC has turned a deaf ear to the hearing of HC and published the same immediately before the hearing in which CPI along with other 11 political parties have expressed displeasure. EC did not give importance to the consents of opposition parties and published the draft which is unlawful.
