Computer and beautician training for jail inmates of Nagoan central jail

Raktim Duarah, District and Session Judge, Nagaon on Wednesday inaugurated a 20-day long computer and beautician training programme for the inmates of Nagoan central jail at the jail premises.

NAGAON: Raktim Duarah, District and Session Judge, Nagaon on Wednesday inaugurated a 20-day long computer and beautician training programme for the inmates of Nagoan central jail at the jail premises.

The training programme was initiated by District Legal Services Authority, Nagaon aimed to provide an opportunity to the inmates for self-employment after they are released from prison. The prime objective of the programme is to instil in the minds of the inmates that despite being lodged behind bars, they are doing something useful for their future, said Monica Misong, secretary of DLSA Nagaon. The inaugural programme was attended by judicial officers of the district, jail authority of Nagaon and inmates of the jail.
