Congress, AGP activists, former AASU members join BJP

Amid the adverse situation of COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

LAKHIMPUR: Amid the adverse situation of COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is preparing for the ensuing Assembly election. In view of the election, the ruling party has continued its activities to strengthen the organizational base.

As part of such activities, hundreds of people, including Congress and AGP activists and former AADU members joined the BJP in Dhakuakhana on Friday. On this occasion, a public meeting was organized at the Dhakuakhana district BJP office at Alok Nagar complex in Dhakuakhana town. State Panchayat and Rural Development Minister-cum- Dhakuakhana MLA Naba Kumar Doley took part in the programme which was chaired by Dhakuakhana district BJP president Pradip Chamuah.

In the same programme, former State executive member of AASU, Dipak Chamua, former education secretary of Lakhimpur district AASU, Dibya Kumar Ramchiyari, Dhakuakhanasubdivisional unit former president Amarjit Pegu, former vice-president of Dhakuakhana Block Congress, PranjalGohain, Matmora regional unit AGP president Pradip Das and many other prominent persons of the subdivision joined the BJP.
