Boko: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited the house of the first martyr of the anti-CAA stir, Dipanjal Das in Doloipara at Chaygaon in Kamrup district on Saturday.
He spent time with Dipanjal’s family and offered a floral tribute to Dipanjal’s photo. Dipanjal’s elder sister Sangita Das said that Rahul Gandhi had given assurance to stand with them and even asked local MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed to settle any kind of problems that they might face. He promised an e-rickshaw and jobs for Dipanjal’s elder sister and younger brother Dipankar Das.
Congress general secretary Harish Rawat, Assam Congress president Ripun Bora, Leader of Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly, Debabrata Saikia and former minister Rakibul Hussain accompanied Rahul Gandhi.
