HAFLONG: Two Congress leaders as well as the members of the N C Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), Daniel Langthasa and JoysingDurung, have opposed the postponement of the sixth session of the 12th N C Hills Autonomous Council scheduled to be held on July 27.

Both the MACs addressed a press meet at Rajiv Bhavan today and expressed their concern over the postponement of the council session on the pretext of the prevailing corona situation and lack of space for social distancing. Terming it as a conspiracy to kill democracy, they alleged that the council authority had postponed the session instead of holding it at a suitable place so that the people's grievances could not be discussed. According to them, this session was important as public grievances and development issues could have been discussed.

Both the leaders have demanded that the session should not be postponed but should be held in some other suitable place like the district library auditorium.
