GUWAHATI: Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today on Saturday, October 23 announced sanctioning of Rupees 10 crore for the construction work of a new stadium by state government in Owbari playground, Tamulpur.
The important announcement was made at the time of election rally while supporting Jolen Daimary, the candidate of United Peoples's Party Liberal (UPPL).
Dr Sarma tweeted through his Twitter handle and wrote "Love & support of people at an election rally at Owbari Playground, Suklai Serfang under Tamulpur LAC today is a reflection of their faith in NDA. Urged people to vote for BJP- AGP- UPPL candidate Sri Jolen Daimary,"
The Chief Minister further added that under the Orunodoi Scheme along with existing 16,000 beneficiaries, 10,000 more families of Tamulpur LAC (Legislative Assembly Constituency) will be added to enjoy the benefits and profits. Other promises includes job opportunities for youth and assistance for women as CM Sarma mentions one lakh jobs will be provided for youth of Assam and MFI loan waiver will be given to twenty two lakh women of the state.
Additional information of the announcement includes commencement of medical college and hospital in the town and informs that another bridge over the same river at Jartalauk is about to complete.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at last urged the people of the state to be aware about COVID-19 protocols and get the two doses of Vaccination for COVID as soon as possible to save themselves from the spread of deadly virus. He even explained in his speech how the COVID virus had affected the late Tamulpur MLA, necessitating the by-poll.
The opposition party Congress in Assam today on Saturday claims the arrest of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his campaigning for the by elections of October 30. The opposition made allegations about Sarma that he is responsible for the violation of MCC, the model code of conduct as in the poll-bound constituencies he is promising development work for Assam.
