GUWAHATI: The construction work of the much-awaited Golaghat Medical College is scheduled to start in the month of May-June this year.
The constriction work of the hospital will cost Rupees 500 crore as informed by the chief minister.
On Saturday 5 February Assam chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the construction work for Golaghat Medical College will begin in the month of May and June this year.
The chief minister on Saturday took to Twitter to share about the construction update of Golaghat Medical College along with other information that includes sanctioning of Rupees 50 crore for the Sati Sadhani Sadhani University in the Golaghat district of Assam.
The Assam government took major decisions about land allotments and further ensured that four-laning works of the existing Dergaon to Golaghat Road will be starting soon.
On his visit to Golaghat, the CM on Saturday inaugurated a 760-metre railway overbridge on the Furkating by-pass of Golaghat Merapani Road in the presence of other officials.
Another tweet by the CM wrote that a 760 -metre railway overbridge on the Furkating by-pass of Golaghat Merapani Road has been dedicated to the citizens. The construction work of the railway overbridge cost a total amount of Rupees 45.66 crore.
The chief minister also promised of constructing a road of 7,000 kilometres in the state during the upcoming financial year.
The CM also attended a programme organized at Golaghat Amateur Theatre Society's Auditorium and interacted with eminent citizens and representatives from different organizations.
Saram discussed the upcoming projects that include a modern auditorium, engineering college, medical college, integrated DC office and state of art stadiums in all districts of Assam.
Sarma in Golaghat addressed the members of Assam BJP and requested them to channelise complete energy in view of making BJP win in the Municipal Board Election. He urged them to make efforts in the development of every sector of society.
